The history of GeEAUde...
On December 1, 2022, the department of Vaucluse organized the États généraux de l’eau (water Forum).
Alarmed by the record drought of summer 2022, elected officials, associations, professionals, and academics were invited by the department to discuss water-related issues.
The discussions gave rise to an idea in the minds of the academics present: that of a structure enabling academic knowledge to be transferred more effectively to the socio-economic world.
The idea of creating the GeEAUde chair was thus born.
The GeEAUde Chair is the result of long-standing and strong ties between its founding members.
- Avignon Université and INRAE have been pooling their activities in a single joint research unit (UMR EMMAH) for nearly twenty years.
- A sincere and long-standing friendship unites the University of Avignon and IFPEN.
Created in 2023, the GeEAUde Chair was inaugurated on May 31, 2024.
